a subdomain is considered a separate domain and gets picked up by search engines quickly, but they don’t like double content… so keep your content unique on either domain…
Not sure about SEO, but from branding perspective subdomain makes a lot of sense. The storefront and the blog would appear be linked tighter, which I think is a good thing. It is reassuring to have the same domain when visitor is moving back-and-forth.
A quick search found something that may be of interest –
Yep — came across the same article… I’m going to move this blog to my own server.
Sub domain might be the way to go. You can also create a folder in BeckermanPhoto.com for the blog. It would simply look like BeckermanPhoto.com/blog or WordPress or whatever you want to call it. You can have the domain name point to that folder and the viewer does not see the primary domain. I’ve done this several times with my domains. Having one inside another. Google Analytics should be able to separate the two by domain name.
For Search Engine Optimization (SEO), use the plugin in WordPress.
Go for it, Dave! I don’t know a thing about this stuff, but these discussions are interesting.

Very interesting post – Might be old new, but it was new to me. Thanks.
