  1. Metro North has a beautiful staircase. Much nicer than the 2 and 5 staircases in the Bronx that resemble fire escapes.

  2. By the way, in case anyone is interested in how Leonard Bernstein came up with the opening notes of the song “Somewhere” in West Side Story, all you need to do is wait until an el train passes overhead at the Freeman Street station in the Bronx and listen carefully.
