On The Town

on-the-town-1100

I go out before dawn.  It’s Sunday morning.  These guys are fooling around near the Korean Deli (that’s where the light is from, behind me).  They insist that I take their picture, which I do.  After I show it to them on the back of the camera they laugh and shake my hand.  They were causing a nusaince for the Korean Deli owner because they kept passing hands in front of the electric eye (just above me out of frame) which was causing the doors to open and close.  And yes, some nasty looking sutures on the guy with the shirt over his face.  But I don’t know anything more than that.  Just another mysterious moment in the big city.  Probably the only reason I even bothered to take a shot was that the lighting was perfect.  I couldn’t have lit it better if I tried.  (50mm@  f2 1/125th ASA 800, 40d).

  1. Aren’t these the state senators from NYC on their way up to Albany for that emergency session the governor ordered for today?

  2. They aren’t state senators, but they are working undercover for the Gov. to clear up the deadlock in Albany. The pressure obviously was too much for them.

  3. What is going on with that guy’s abdomen? Is that a nasty looking wound?

  4. Yes it is! His abdomen is heavily sutured up. But I have no idea what their story is. It was all just one of those quick moments and over.

  5. Great photo…nice exposure…always fun shooting wide open…hard to get beyond those nasty sutures, though. I was actually in the city yesterday..interesting to say the least.
